Liz and I snuck around a lot this morning! First a banner and balloons, then a trip to Romya bakery to order a birthday cake.

Breakfast was a special one at Zest, a very upmarket vegetarian restaurant. The menu was a baffling array of healthy goodies merged together in various combinations.
I opted for the sautéed mushrooms, hash brown, spicy beans, poached eggs and jackfruit. In my head jackfruit was a fruit, İ was confusing it with durian. In reality it was pretend sausage and was nasty.

Liz and I window shopped on the way back before joining the others at the beach. I couldn’t face the sunbed, I sat in the cool breeze of Madhu restaurant, blogged, caught up on the happenings in the world and tried to start a new book. The Castaway.
10 pages in and my eyelids were drooping, so off to the sunbed, but didn’t end up sleeping.
Had a swim, Kev suggested swimming to the sandbank a bit further out. We all lost our nerve as it got deeper, but later heard it’s covered in sharp barnacles.
In the evening we went to Samarasa, very nearby. The moment you walk in you feel it’s somewhere special.
The service was slow, but it didn’t matter, Karen and Dave had joined us and we had lots of chat and laughter.
I had a fabulous chicken biryani. They even made a special raita for me with no cucumber in it.

Thank you Karen & Dave for collecting Sharon’s cake on the way.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening, definitely one to remember.
Observations..
Toast.. They seem to just show it to the toaster for a millisecond wherever we’ve been.
Agonda…exceeded all expectations, totally beautiful, wonderful people, fabulous food and souvenirs. The company’s not been too bad either!
