Liz got up early, went out and was on a mission.

In India they usually provide a bottom sheet and a blanket. Previous places have resolved it, 2 even had nice, thin white duvets.

The others have a penchant for white bedding. As a dog owner this has never been even the vaguest requirement for me. A sheet is a sheet as long as it doesn’t show muddy footprints and too much dog hair. One place we stayed said there was an extra charge for white bedding. Anyway.. I also have the same blanket phobia as the others. I don’t believe they get laundered between guests and can’t have them touching me.

We’ve all been using our beach towels as top sheets.

On the way home last night they had some large decorative sheets in the little clothes shop. They could even be wall hangings. Liz and Sharon both liked a cream one with black elephants. Somehow in the haggling process Liz got the elephant sheet even though Sharon initially offered more.

Disappointed, she selected a beautiful mandala patterned one. It stank of mothballs so she said she’d wash it tomorrow.

It turned out that Liz’s mission had included changing the mandala for another cream one like hers, with a slightly different design without elephants.

She also bought eggs, tomatoes , peppers and onions.

Omelette maker extraodinairre, they were huge. I stuck with my kellogs muesli, curd and we all had toast.

Todays plan, a day at the fabulous Roger’s, beach, early dinner and back for cards.

Liz and I walked to the chemist, I collected my tablets and we walked back via the puppies and fed them biscuits.

We investigated the gym, it’s on the other side of the complex,on the 4th floor. We got the lift back downstairs.

We all met at Roger’s, chilled on the beach and had chilli chicken later, a gentle stroll along the beach, a few card games and an early night.

We’re all struggling a bit in different ways. It doesn’t feel like a holiday anymore.

The evening flight from Delhi via Ras Al Khaimah didn’t take off.

I think we’ll make it to Delhi on Friday, but mentally prepared to have to wait it out there. The backlog is horrendous. If we cancel our flight we’ll be left to our own devices and flight prices are crazy
