The cleaner arrived just after 9am. She was so apologetic. The last people checked out late and then we arrived. She’s been telling him for some time that it needs a deep clean.

She set to work, bathrooms had a good scrub, an astonishing amount of debris was removed from the floors and mopped.

After almost 2 hours I told her the main things were now perfect and that she could be there for a long long doing windowsills, fans, etc.

We wanted to get to the beach. I gave her some money, I know it’s her job but I did feel sorry for her.

I could never have a cleaner at home. Sitting catching up with Love Island like I was lady muck didn’t feel right.

She also confirmed that the blood was already on the curtains..

We met Kev & Sharon down their end of the beach. They’d already had breakfast. Sharon recommended the honey, muesli, fresh fruit and yogurt. It was fabulous.

Kevin had his book, we all chilled, changed and met up for drinks in Feli Bar. We were a little late, luckily as it turned out and waited to have drinks until we went for dinner. The drinks were ridiculous prices, with a load of taxes added to the bill. First time we’ve seen that.

We ordered our food at a place called Savios, curries, steak and a Pad Thai for me. Lovely staff.

An oldish guy turned up, introduced himself as Sheba.

Where are you from he asked Kevin and Sharon. Dorset. He proceeded to name several towns and their postcodes! He knew Plymouth Argyle too.

Same question for Liz, several nearby Scottish towns and postcodes were relayed! Motherwell he announced!

Me.. Brighton. Ahhh London by the Sea. BN1. Are you from Brighton or Hove actually? No, but I worked in Hove. Ahhh BN3! He knew Palace Pier and Kings (Royal) Pavillion.

Have you been to the UK? No.

Amazing. He does tours, I’d actually love to spend a day with him. What a character.

Our food was excellent, with complementary ice cream too. Almost the last to leave, it’s beginning to become a bit of a pattern!

A lovely laid back day in fab Benaulim.
