I was awake at 7am even though it was another late stressful time last night trying to book our planned route back to Turkey.
I didn’t like to just book in case Kevin and Sharon had slept on it and decided they didn’t want to do it. Liz was awake and had another terrible night’s sleep.
I pottered about packing and putting bits from the kitchen in bags. Today we’re moving apartments as ours is booked to someone else for the rest of the week.
We’ll be moving into our squeaky clean resort owned property on the La Grace complex. The other one needs a damn good scrub and a luck of paint.
Time ticked on.. I was getting anxious that our 4 flights may be gone. It’s a big ask on 3 flights to get 4 seats especially at a time when everyone is desperate to avoid flights across the middle East.
I was apoplectic (on the inside trying desperately not to show it) by the time Kevin had his shave and we sat down and booked it.
Yayyy booked. Omg. Best birthday ever!!!
So, in a couple of weeks time we shall all be off to Türkiye via Kyrgyzstan. Not silly prices either.
Omg Omg Omg.
We lugged all our bags over to the other side of La Grace. We’re 4th floor now. Thank heavens for lifts.

Lauren video called me. My first birthday as Grammy made very special with Harvies dear little face. Tried to get a smile but I could tell he was working out how the Internet works. He was super serious.
By now time was ticking on, off we went to Roger’s beach using the midday noddy car and walked along the other end of the beach where they dropped us off.

Roger’s are so accommodating, we had the breakfast menu. Their granola is the best and a huge bowl full. There was a gorgeous breeze today and I didn’t need to go inside by the fans.
It was all action there today and I caught up on blogging. I have a book to read about an Indian man who cycled across Europe for Love.
I spotted it in Agonda and picked it up, another lifetime ago. Sharon has now read it and says I must read it. One of the best books she’s read.
One day I’ll make it past page 11.

We headed back, showered, changed and booked a table at Cinnamon for dinner. They have a live singer tonight, The Miserable Man.
They also had music where we’re staying. We sat in the air conditioned bar area people watching. They were all super miserable and mostly on their phones.
When we came out of our bubble, where we were sure it was a female singer, we realised why they looked miserable. He was dire.

The singer at Cinnamon was great. Very talented, all covers, many in reggae, others slowed down or speeded up and he does all the instrument sounds himself.

I had chicken tikka, a huge tasty skewer with the spiciest coleslaw and an equally spicy green dip. I asked for yogurt to cool the coleslaw, but sadly it had big chunks of cucumber that tainted the whole thing even through the spiciness. Yuk.
Sharon and Kevin bought me a painted cow, he’s super cute. Liz bought me a kaftan I’d spotted on our many shopping trips. And a beautiful Indian card from them all. Fabulous, thanks guys so much.
Several street dogs followed us home. They know that carrier bags could mean restaurant leftovers. Sadly not this time babies.
