I slept well last night, it’s nice having a brain that’s empty of flight routes and dates.
Liz & I walked to the beach at Trinity end. The consensus is that we should try other shacks and not just Roger’s. We went to the first one to the left, Palmleaf.
Nice sunbeds, very few sellers, and those that we saw know by now that we don’t want bracelets and trinkets. Apart from 1 who woke Liz up. Sharon joined us. Kevin is having a day indoors out of the sun.
Had a nice catch of chat with John, the Internet there was fabulous. It’s awful at La Grace using their network. I’m struggling with having nothing to do. I want to practice darts, crochet and paint. John suggested I buy a paint by numbers. There were some lovely ones on Amazon India, but all unavailable. I bought one from Hastip, no clue as to when it’ll arrive!
There was a beautiful breeze today, it was all bearable at the beach. I don’t think Palmleaf is the new Roger’s.
We had a group catch up call with our Monday buddies. The weather in Türkiye looks lovely. I miss the Calis beach views so much. Feel super jealous. I’m sure they felt jealous seeing our powdery sand, boats and a water buffalo, but honestly Türkiye is my home.
There’s a lot I struggle with here. There was 3 working guys sitting around in the shack we sat at today, doing nothing, yet the beach is littered with cigarette ends, wrappers and serviettes.
Last night we had dinner at a place we’ve often walked past, Cookhm. The food was great, I had a spinach and mushroom lasagne, which was a great change from curry. Spinach 2 days running.. I’ll have muscles like Popeye soon.
Although the food was great the napkin holders and ice bucket were really grubby. Why don’t they see the grime?

Shiva stopped by for a chat. Tonight was mainly a lesson about the Ottomans and then UK history, especially Scotland. The best country in the world he always says. All the best things come from Scotland he said, the refrigerator, ATMs, the bicycle, the raincoat. I’ve googled, he’s absolutely right.
He said that when he had a bookshop he read at least a book a week and 10 newspapers a day. I asked what he thought of the Iranian situation. He wishes someone had done it 40 years ago.
Really missing home, but only 13 days to until we’ll be home. I can do this.
