A day in Çesme, Izmir Türkiye
Is it just posh boats and a castle? 10.5.25 An interesting nights sleep by the little harbour, after finally catching the mozzie that was otherwise going to eat us alive. At 4am there was a huge clap of thunder, a bit of rain, and noises that sounded like they were definitely unloading fishing nets and…

Race day- Çesme Izmir Türkiye
Go Johnny go go go go! 11.5.25 Half marathon Çesme I slept well, John didn’t, he always struggles the night before a run. We were up at 7am, dressed and in the Belediye square by 7.40am. There doesn’t seem to be any.Further reading revealed that the name Seferhisar covers the whole area and we have seen the main attraction, beautiful Sığacık. John suggested we drive down to Bafa…

Bafa Lake to Güllük
15.5.25 We didn’t get eaten by lions or tigers or bears, or even worse get moved on by the Jandarma. We took the stunning coastal route to Güllük, a very pretty little seaside town. We even found a tiny fruit and veg market in a little village on the way where I got the last…

Güllük and home to Fethiye Muğla
Our trip is coming to an end 16.5.25 When we went to bed last night there were street dogs barking, people chatting on the beach and music playing. It didn’t bode well but suddenly just before midnight we realised all was silent. We could only hear the sea. John decided we would take the scenic…
