Happy birthday to my mum, 84 today. Gosh, we’re all getting old and it flies by.

We contemplated going to Cuc Phong National park on the motorbike today, but it seems to be anywhere between 45 and 70km away depending what leaflet or map you look at.
It just felt too far for me, John was up for it. I may have felt differently on a bike with everything working and the knowledge that my hat wasn’t going to fly off.

Eggs for breakfast, then John decided to go for a run.
That was good, time to sort the monobrow, hairy legs and catch up with Love Island.

When he got back we went for a wander into town.
My little toe was still hurting and looks quite red. After a chat with the pharmacist I ended up with antibiotics, alpha cystosine and medrol and £10 poorer.
The last 2 are also used for sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma.. they might cure my cough 😂

John has had a bad tummy and decided not to eat today.

Near the Tam Coc to Bich Dong boats we sat while I had sausage baguette and iced coffee. John couldn’t resist a pineapple smoothie, although that wouldn’t be my first choice with a bad tummy.

We then walked around the lake area where the boats go, there’s a massive development going up, it’s not unattractive but could it be the sign of things to come for this beautiful unspoilt area?

Back at the Homestay we decided to chill in the sun and play rummicub, we didn’t play for long as John was very sick and went for a lie down.
I went into town and got anti sickness meds, train snacks and an iced coffee.

When it came to dinner time John still didn’t want to eat. He’s like the dogs, it’s the only way I know he’s really ill.
I ordered spring rolls and chips at the homestay. They were really good.
It was nice actually to have an excuse to watch tv and relax.

Johns tablet is still misbehaving, he’s already spent ages watching it crash and restart.
When he woke up he ended up doing another hard reset and reinstalling everything. I went to sleep early knowing that the alarm was going off at 6.30am…
