Despite the dodgy hard bed we slept well at the Pillow and Bread Hostel.
Breakfast consisted of as many slices of bread as you like.
3 toasters on the go, marmalade and red jam.

I’ve loved having marmalade and will have to make some when we get back to Türkiye.
We had no set plans, in this area there’s not any touristic sites, we chose it as a cheap overnight not too far from Suvarnabhumi airport.
We ended up walking almost 12km and it was quite pleasant.
We were in the business area, nothing of note apart from large pavements, mostly obstacle free.
There were food stalls and restaurants everywhere we looked, we had fabulous mango yogurt smoothies. My new favourite thing.

We stopped at a Korean eatery.
We ordered a plate meal for John that looked a bit like the food tray on Squid Game, fried chicken for me and a portion of rice.
We had to write the meal numbers on their list. A portion of glass noodles with meat and vegetables arrived.
Instead of ordering rice I’d ordered a number 15. The 15 was the rice price.

Anyway, it was great especially the chicken lovely and sticky, There was so much I couldn’t have managed rice as well. Meanwhile John managed to eat item number 15 too.
After I’ve perfected marmalade I’ll be investigating Korean chicken recipes.
We collected our cases from Pillow and Bread and made a quick change as its going to be cold when we arrive in Australia tomorrow.
John ordered a Grab, the heavens opened and we found a small roof to protect us. This little fellow came to say goodbye to us.

Thank goodness we allowed plenty of time as the traffic was barely moving.
We were at the airport with 3 hours until our flight.
Checked the board – delayed from 8.25pm to 9.10 pm.
They found my flask of coffee and my yogurt. They didn’t find Johns yogurt.
I’m all for rules if they apply to everyone.
John said the yogurt was warm, that made me feel better.
We sat by the phone chargers not far from Gate G5.
I was about 20 minutes away from being up to date with Love Island when we noticed people were standing up in our gate. We’re off. Yayy.
We boarded and finally took off 2 hours late at 10.30pm.
Of course by then we were worried as we started off with 2 and a half hours to kill in Singapore, now 30 minutes max to transfer.
We landed at Singapore and luckily gate D40 was the gate our plane parked at.
We had to go back through security. They emptied Johns water bottle that he had filled in Bangkok, good, about time he got picked on, then off to the water machines to refill what they’d emptied a few metres before.
We then got back on the same plane we just arrived on, to go to Melbourne!
We flew with Scoot. It was ok but it’s a long flight to Melbourne with no frills.

I’m going to have a blogging break whilst in Oz with family and just post some highlights later.
So excited now, precious times ahead.
